CANDYMAKING CLASS

Premier chocolatier Ruth Kendrick will be teaching a class, "Holiday Candymaking," Sept. 17, 11 a.m. at Love to Cook Kitchen Kneads in Logan. Ruth's artisan chocolates — known as Chocolot — have won numerous awards.

She will be showing tips and tricks to make your own candy to give as Christmas gifts, or maybe just to hide in your closet for yourself. The cost is $25, and you can sign up at http://www.luvtocook.com/products/prodDetails.asp?pID=2335.

Ruth is also teaching a "Chocolate Tempering" class at Bakers Cash & Carry in Murray on Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. Cost is $10.  You can sign up at http://www.bakerscandc.com/product.php?productid=22607&cat=1428&page=1
It seems pretty early to be thinking about the holidays — I'm still harvesting tomatoes! But, if you're making candy it's a good idea to practice a little beforehand. Get an early start so you don't have to stress come December.
